Beach Riding

Beach Riding

In the holidays my family and I went to Taieri Beach to ride our two Honda motorbikes along the sand. We have a 70cc and a 100cc. Dad, Nathan and I rode all the way to Taieri Mouth and went through a river on the way, while Mum and Rhys waited in the car. While we were at the beach, Dad taught me how to change the gears while using the clutch. I hope we get to go back there next holidays. Callum             29.7.13

Hockey Tournament

On Thursday, the 11th of July Harvey, Wiremu, Callum, Rowan, Aaron, Nathan, Stevie and Holly went to the Hockey Tournament in Milton at Milton Primary School’s field. Their team name was the Waihola Terminators. The team worked together, and won the tournament. They played against a team from Waitahuna in the finals, and bet them, 6-2 points! It was an exhilarating day which had everybody puffing by the time they got back to school.                          By Holly                12.7.13

Solo Race

Solo Race

Yesterday team NZ won the first race of the challenger series of the Americas cup. The NZ boat was the only one in the race after the Italian team withdrew. I don’t know why they withdrew.

Not much

Not much

Well, there is nothing much happening in my world right now. Things are quiet in my house. All that happens is that mum goes to work every day and and we go to school but I’m looking forward to the holidays when I get to do nothing.

Poem about Tom

Totally loves "Club Penguin"

Hates "Brain Attack" - an i-pad game

Odd talker

Makes up good plans

A clever boy

Says "Doh", like Homer Simpson

Wants to be eagle man

Has lots of brothers, four to be precise!

Annoying to Jake, his big brother

Likes "minecraft" stuff

Enormous "minecraft" fan

Yes, he loves to play "Club Penguin"

Rippa Rugby with Mitch

Today we had Rippa rugby training with Mitch and Nicole. We played a game where we had to stay in a set square and rip as many tags off other players before time ran out. It was very hard to keep your tags safe from attacking players.  The most tags I got by the end was four. It was a hard and exhausting job.                      By Callum and Wiremu

Big Sad Wolf

I painted my favourite scene from a play we went to see at East Taieri School. I also wrote my response to the play. It was a very cool performance and lots of laughs.

Extreme Weather

We made weather reports at school as part of our weather inquiry. This is one of the videos.

On Tuesday news

                   Tuesday news

On the news on Tuesday night cyclists were riding in a bike race and a car came and ran over the people. It was sad but luckily all three people are alive. They are all OK and the cyclists  said on the news "I am bruised now".                                   by Shakira 3.7.13.

Super Mum

My mum is the best mum in the world because she makes good baking and gives me cool stuff. When I am sick she helps me out by giving me good healthy food. My mum is standing on the top of a building, looking over the city for people who are doing bad things.

Slug Eggs

 Slug Eggs

On Sunday Mum found some slug eggs in the garden and told me that if I looked under woodchips I might find some too. I picked up a stick and looked under it and there were slug eggs.  We wonder how long they will take to hatch out.

Cows

Cows

Last night, just before teatime, my family and I had to go and shift our two cows to the paddock down the road, where there was fresh grass.  We got one of the cows down the road easily but the other one wasn’t cooperating with us so we had to bring out the big guns, aka my Dad. After an hour of trying we went back inside, except for my Dad who tried for another hour. Eventually he got the stubborn cow in.  When he came inside we congratulated him then finally sat down for tea together.

Room 2 Blog experts work with junior children

Aaron, Stevie & Alex received some individual training from Anne K then worked with junior class children to help them post their own work to the BLOG. It is great to see our senior students developing their own levels of expertise and then working as peer tutors to others.  Check out the new R1 posts for today.

PAL's Sports Extravaganza

On Wednesday we went to the Edgar Centre to play different sports against other school's PAL's teams. We were team USA and won a prize for best dressed team!
Our first game of mini-ball, wearing our red bibs, playing against an all girls team and we won!
Red, white and blue stripes on our cheeks show that we are team USA.

Both teams are listening to instructions for how to play mini-ball.

The USA team are working hard to score tries and pass to other team members.
