Today we created a class story using Storybird. We focused on creating an interesting story that used the images as a support. We discussed the characteristics of picture books. In our story we decided to use some rhyme and some alliteration. We discovered the difficulty around having the whole story rhyme when we tried to find lots of words that rhymed with mouse! These are some of the decision we have to make as writers.
Click on the link below to read our amazing story! We would love some feedback.

Beach Riding
Beach
Riding
In the holidays my family and I went to Taieri Beach to ride
our two Honda motorbikes along the sand. We have a 70cc and a 100cc. Dad,
Nathan and I rode all the way to Taieri Mouth and went through a river on the
way, while Mum and Rhys waited in the car. While we were at the beach, Dad
taught me how to change the gears while using the clutch. I hope we get to go
back there next holidays. Callum 29.7.13

Solo Race
Solo Race
Yesterday
team NZ won the first race of the challenger series of the Americas cup. The NZ
boat was the only one in the race after the Italian team withdrew. I don’t know
why they withdrew.

Charged!
I am walking
through the paddock to go frogging when our bull, All Black, stamps his foot,
lowers his head and looks at me funny. As I run away from our bull I trip and
get a giant face full of poo. I think that the Bull might have been laughing at
me but I feel a mix of fear, anger & embarrassment.
