Term 2 Recap By Bea and Evie

Term 2 Recap
When we got out of Lockdown and were back at school lots of things had changed. We were social distancing and we did mostly everything differently. It was a big change but everyone got stuck into learning and had lots of fun being back at school.

We had lots of fun activities planned for the term and ended up doing most of the exciting activities like Harold, and walk and wheels week once we had returned to Level 1.
On the Thursday of the second last week of term, Harold and Pip came to WDS. Room 2 learned about how to stay safe online and how to be a good digital citizen. Room one learned about being a good friend.

Then on Friday 26th June we had Earth Day. We were a bit late for Earth Day which was actually on the 22nd of April but because of the lockdown we celebrated it later. We wore mufti and we all brought a gold coin which we will put together and use to buy some native seedlings for our school grounds. We had a waste-free shared lunch with lots of yummy food. We did a nature scavenger hunt so we had to find all of the plants and natural items on our list. We also looked at the nature around the school. It was lots of fun.

Last week and this week we have had Walk and Wheels week. We bought our scooters, skateboards, rollers, scats and go- carts and lots more cool things to school. We all loved being able to bike around on the big court and ramp and have a go on each other's cool things, but we always had to wear a helmet!!!
Yesterday we had a technology morning to show the parents how to help us access our learning online and then had a shared morning tea. Room 2 taught the parents lots of things like how to start a Zoom meeting, how to use google slides and docs and lots more things. Room 1 shared their online newsboard, Seesaw and the many wonderful online learning apps they use. Here are some photos of what we have done. x
