Art - Our Summer Holidays

Callum and Holly have published their summer holiday stories ready for our class book. Come in and read it sometime.

Charged!

I am walking through the paddock to go frogging when our bull, All Black, stamps his foot, lowers his head and looks at me funny. As I run away from our bull I trip and get a giant face full of poo. I think that the Bull might have been laughing at me but I feel a mix of fear, anger & embarrassment.

Soccer tournament

Soccer Tournament: Wednesday 17th April 2013 (postponement date Thursday 18th April)
Balclutha A & P Grounds   9:45am arrival for10am games.  Finish 2.30pm
When playing children will wear the school PE T shirt and their own shorts (navy or black if possible).  They will also be issued with a tracksuit to wear.  They can wear this to school on the day.  Please bring sports uniform back to school on Thursday without washing.  Shin pads and soccer boots are recommended, but if you don’t have them sport shoes will be fine.
A drink and a big lunch are important.  A sun hat and or a warm hat are a good idea too.   There may be a canteen but this has not been confirmed yet.  If your child is a bus student and you want them picked up or dropped off at home, you need to let me know so I can pass on the information to the parent transporting your child.

maths homework for the last week of term

Hello Room 2.  For your homework for maths this week I want you to play 'tic tac toe' at http://www.funbrain.com
Investigate which levels you can complete.  (Easy, medium, hard or superbrain).  Focus on subtraction.  Have a pen and paper beside you to help you solve the problems using a strategy we have been working on in class.  Be prepared to share with me what level you could do.

Blog - Wiki Update & 2 new challenges

BLOG - WIKI Update
Friday - 5 April

Hi all, Things are moving amazingly fast with our Blog & e-learning!
Its just so exciting to be learning to use new technology that can make your learning accessible to you at home & school. After all, there is one person who should be managing & directing your learning, children, and it is you!!!

I love the thought that you can carry on creating & learning new skills and knowledge at home & school and that your whanau & friends can see just how clever you are, as we do every day!

Thanks to Anne, we now have a simple web page drafted up for our school, that will be useful for you all in accessing school information. Just remember, like all of our learning & development, it is a work in progress and will be continuously changing. EXCITING! Here is the URL - so search for us & tell us what you think of how it looks and what we might like to make available here.

Your challenge 1: Families/ whanau - is to fill out the IT survey on our web page (wiki)

What an intense week we have had at WDS with some rough & challenging news - we have some exciting ideas of how we might use technology though to keep people feeling connected, supported and LOVED!
Watch this space! Have a great weekend - and enjoy the first round of winters sports tomorrow.

Your challenge 2: Don't wait - Do something kind & generous for someone else right now!

Pals training

Here are our wonderful PALs (physical activity leaders) .  Each week 2 PALs are on duty.  It is their responsibility to run a game for others.  Today we enjoyed indoor hockey.  Last week we had the always popular 'jailbreak'!  Please enter your requests for next weeks activities!
